Even before MMA's recent surge in popularity the truth was that if you faced an offender with any open hand combat skills it was likely to be wrestling since it has been a popular sport for a long time. The popularity of MMA has spread to the US military and law enforcement.

Some fail to realize the difference between the octagon and the street or the concert walls of a prison. Modern Combative Systems Ground Survival for Law Enforcement Course has three major components; take down defense, ground combatives, and regaining base.
